We have two staff members and hundreds of wonderful volunteers!

Executive Director

Dean Baker serves as the full-time Executive Director of Love Helps and has done so since 1995 when the organization was founded. Dean was the originator of Love Helps, inc., and its programs. He continues to organize and oversee its activities, as well as, help conduct its programs in schools. Dean is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and previously worked as an architect for the nationally-recognized firm of ESa (Earl Swensson Associates). Dean is a husband and father. He enjoys playing golf and other sports, as well as, various church-related activities. Dean has served as an Adjunct Instructor at Watkins Institute, Nashville State Technological Institute and O'More College. Additionally, prior to founding Love Helps, inc., Dean also served as the founding president of a charitable organization in Nashville, Tennessee which serves low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners through volunteerism now called Rebuilding Together Nashville. Dean has a deep conviction and passionate heart for helping young people develop positive character and embrace responsible behavior, as well as, having a strong vision for engaging the community to better support children through their challenging process of growing up.

Assistant Program Director

Cindy Baker serves as the Assistant Program Director of Love Helps, inc. She assists in many of the organization's programs and activities. Cindy is a graduate of Madison High School in Madison, Tennessee. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University majoring in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Education from Trevecca Nazarene University majoring in Administrative Supervision. Cindy is also one of the original founding Board members for Love Helps, inc. Prior to her work for Love Helps, inc., Cindy was an educator with Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. She enjoys playing golf and other sports, as well as, playing the piano. Cindy also has a great heart for helping children and is both diligent and creative in all of her many roles.

Wonderful Volunteers

The tremendous work of Love Helps, inc., would not be possible without the help of more than 300 volunteers who read in schools, send letters to students, stuff envelopes, coordinate events and more!

We appreciate all of the efforts of others to assist in this important work!
